Button Christmas Wreath Craft
Making Button Wreaths
Many of us place wreaths on our doors or in our windows
at Christmas. They lighten up the Christmas decorations and make our guests
feel warm and cozy when entering out home. How about letting your children
create a wreath to adorn the walls of their classroom. It’s not too difficult
to do and they will have a lot of fun seeing what they can do with buttons.
Find as many different buttons you can find. Everyone
has buttons lying around their house. Ask the kids to bring some in and look
in your own home to see what you may have.
Use easy to bend wire. You may want to precut the wire
before the children start to decorate the wreaths. This way you can keep all
the wreaths the same size and have to worry about children becoming hurt with
wire snips. Find cheap swags of greenery at the local craft or department
store. Use the greenery to wrap around the wreath. The children will have
doing this part.
Now that they have a wreath they can start to decorate
it. Use buttons of every shape and size. The colors won’t matter either as
long as it is bright and festive. Help them attach the buttons to the greenery
with a glue gun. They don’t need a lot of buttons just enough to make the
wreath look bright and festive.
When the glue has dried hang the wreaths on the walls of
the classroom. What a different and creative way to make a wreath that
everyone can enjoy during the holiday season.
