Easy Pumpkin Painting

Plastic Bag Ghost

What you’ll need:
White plastic trash bags
Black marker
Balloons
Some string
Scissors
Masking tape

Instructions:
Blow up/inflate the balloons and cover each one with a trash bag. With the string, gather and tie each bag under the balloon to make a head. Using your markers, draw a spooky face on the trash bag. Be as creative as you can-make a scary face or a funny face. Whatever you want! Attach a piece of string to the top of your ghosts and display them all around your house and yard.

Easy Ghosts

All you need for these easy little ghosts is some tissue paper, a black marker and a bit of white string or fishing line. Ball up one tissue paper into a round shape. Lay a second tissue across it, so the ball is in center of the second tissue. Wrap it around the tissue ball and secure it with the white string or fishing line. Tie it and leave the ends long enough to tie it into a loop and hang it up. Use the black marker to draw eyes and a round mouth on your ghost.

Tip – Make Lollipop ghosts for your trick or treat bowl the same way. Just use a round lollipop instead of the ball of tissue paper.

Boo! It’s a Ghost

All Halloween decorations should include a ghost or two.  Halloween would not be the same without them.  Ghosts are pretty easy decorations to make and the kids will have a ball putting them together.  Be sure to place them in an area that will have some air flow so the ghosts can move freely and scare any visitors you get too.

To make ghosts that will scare even the bravest of men you will need white sheets, plastic clothes hangers and crayons.  If you don’t have a couple of old white sheets you can use or any plastic hangers ask the kids to see if they can bring any of these items in from home.  If you don’t want to do that you can purchase white sheets at your local Dollar store for very little money and plastic hangers can usually be found at your local dry cleaners for little or nothing.

Once you have all the items needed you will want to divide your class up so everyone gets a chance to work on a ghost.  The first order of business will be to cut along the edge of each sheet to make it jagged on the bottom.  Kids love to use scissors and it’s even better when they can just cut away without out having to follow a dotted line.

Next, the sheet will need to be placed over the hanger.  Have one child hold the hanger and the other kids help get the sheet straight over the hanger.  Then cut through the sheet so the top of the hanger can come through.  This will help with hanging the ghost up and making it swing back and forth in the air.

The kids can place eyes on the front of the ghost and even a nose and mouth if they like.  Using

the crayons they can make their ghosts as colorful as they like.  You can even have the children crumple some newspaper up and place in the top of the sheet.  Then help them tie the sheet off just below the hanger to make the ghosts head.

When the ghosts are complete hang them from the ceiling in your classroom.  Again be sure there is some airflow to help the ghosts float through the air.  If you have a window in your classroom that can be opened this would be a good spot.  Also placing one in the door path will work.  Wherever you place the ghosts the kids will be excited when they move around and startle all who enter their room.  Maybe even have them holler BOO when someone walks into their room. Happy Halloween!
