Reindeer Crafts & Games for Preschoolers

Pin the Nose on Rudolph

Everyone knows how to play Pin the Tail on the Donkey.  It’s a classic game that almost all of us have played at one time or another.  A variation of this game that you can play with your preschoolers is Pin the Nose on Rudolph.  All the children know about Rudolph and his bright red nose. Be sure to sing the song while playing the game to make the festivities even more fun.

Start by cutting out a reindeer figure from a large piece of cardboard.  If you aren’t really great at drawing you can find tons of templates on the Internet or in books for free.  Once you have the reindeer cut out let the children color it.  They can use crayons and make Rudolph their very own reindeer.  Just be sure they leave off the red nose for the game.  Place the cutout on the wall or blackboard where it will be easy for your little ones to reach.

For the nose you can take a round piece of cardboard.  It can be as large as you feel necessary to make the game as easy as possible for the children to play.  Color the nose bright red and place a piece of double sided tape on the back.

For the game blindfold the children one at a time.  Spin them around a little bit just be careful to not make them too dizzy.  Now turn them toward the reindeer and have them place the nose on Rudolph.  The kids will laugh and giggle at some of the places Rudolph’s nose ends up.  The one who comes the closest to where Rudolph’s nose goes wins a prize.  You may have a few winners so be prepared just in case.

There are many variations you can play with this game.  You could play Place the Buttons on the Snowman or Place the Halo on the Angel.  The ideas are endless.  No matter which variation you play the kids will have a blast and will remember it for a long time.
